Sales person was good and nice but when we finally wanted to buy the car it took them forever to prep the car and to even get a finance guy to see us so we could start signing the paperwork for it😪
I’ve gone back & forth on what rating to give because I’d like it to be a true representation. TL;DR is everything was exceptional… EXCEPT the financing department, so check that at the end. Our sales person, Cameron Ross? A *glowing* 5 star review. (Remarkable, as I am a woman who is very leary of men, especially in auto professions). He was professional, polite, communicative, no pressure, and Very knowledgeable. He really went above & beyond to help us get what we needed, including personally driving hours to go get the car we wanted— and returning with it in perfect condition. The lot’s selection? Another 5 star. They had so many versions on the lot to pick from (I just wanted something highly specific). Lobby was a lil uncomfy/awkward, but clean. Kia as a company? 5 stars so far. They had a great incentive to help with purchasing and the UI, colors, and features are great. But if it were for the financing department (which I believe is a reflection of management)? 2 star is accurate. The first numbers they gave had no stated interest rate. They hadn’t run our credit, so they (Wade?) vaguely said it was “average” numbers. Average right now is 4.49% to 7.5% APR in Utah. I used calculator . net’s Auto Loan Calculator to see what they’d used… 10.4%. Weird. We have great credit, so qualified for KIA’s summer 0% APR promotional rate. A guy (Wade) was supposed to email us new numbers & didn’t, but supposedly was distracted bc he was getting married soon. That’s understandable! But then he or someone else re-ran the numbers at *supposedly* 0%… DEAR READER they did something so friggin tricky/scary!! I like math & think it must have been an “order of operations” or input manipulation because while all the numbers on the paper LOOKED EXACTLY RIGHT, they must have manipulated the structure of the equation so we would pay them nearly $2,000 extra over the life of the loan. (Our awesome salesman immediately got this fixed for us, they told him they “forgot” we qualified for that and messed up the APR… but due to the clear promotion & math, I think that’s baloney.) So… make sure and use that calculator & ask for Cameron! [ MAINLY FOR THE COMPANY TO CONSIDER, CUSTOMERS CAN SKIP: To finish up we were sent to Alex, a finance professional who was kind to our kids. He seems like a decent guy, so my best guess— as a long-time sales manager for high-cost items myself— is to attribute his behavior (and the other’s in financing who “helped” us) mainly to however management pays/doesn’t pay or values/doesn’t value these employees. Alex tried to sell us a warranty package with a some homemade, unofficial, printed paper that made ZERO sense. Can’t help but feel it was meant to be overwhelming/confusing or that management made him create his own (ee). He then exaggerated quotes on how much windshield replacements cost. He left us for an awkwardly long time to talk about it, or to fatigue us, idk. He said it was a printer issue (if true, again— management problem). After we turned him down on the warranty, he MUST have lost some incentive management pushes too hard (ew), because he was too affected by it. He shut down. He slipped into a bit of frustration (manifested by a lil misogynistic & judgy) before shaking himself back to nice. He hurriedly marked the zillion places we needed to sign and didn’t explain anything we were signing unless I asked. It felt rushed, like he wasn’t getting paid for helping us anymore (there was no one after us to rush him otherwise). He WAS cool about us needing to go to the bank the next day to get our cashiers check for the down payment, though. I hope you guys fix this bc the financing aspect really soured the experience. I’ll hesitate to recommend this place, since I’ll have to include a big Asterisk with it.]
I’m a long time Jerry Seiner customer. Decades. They’ve always been decent. But I’ve noticed in the last 5 years or so, they’ve really been trying to prove their worth. Their service pricing is competitive and the actual work has always been impeccable. They’ve made everything brain dead easy. Scheduling is a piece of cake and they make sure you know of all the little amenities they offer. The complimentary door to door Über service is a game changer. I feel spoiled.
